Christmas Cheer 2023

While Christmas is said to be the most wonderful time of the year, this isn’t the story for all. The holiday season for some can be quite the reminder of what they don’t have and that’s not just about gifts; it also about love, joy, food, peace, etc.

Among all the things that Christmas is about, giving is a huge part. Hence, the minute Gift of Love Jamaica asked Pennies4Girls to join in helping to bring Christmas cheers to 57 children in Jamaica, I was more than willing. I even got to thinking: what better way to do this, than to include my social media following base along with family and friends.

Despite only having 2 weeks to convinced possible donors to get on board, I’m ecstatic to share that 700USD (70,000 pennies) was raised. To see the joy and excitement on these 57 children faces (via pictures) were priceless. Rory from Gift of love Jamaica shared that one of the children that received his gift said: “ this is the first present I’ve ever got.” It brought him to tears.

To know that families didn’t have to choose between getting food over getting presents for their children (they could get both), make one’s heart extremely happy. What a reminder of the true magic and meaning of Christmas.

“This is the first present I’ve ever got”
